V. Vitali: "Let's indignation at the inhuman treatment to the Eritrean migrants in recent days. We can not continue to stand by and watch, it is the role of governments and their citizens to change the current situation. " Let

indignation at the inhuman treatment to the Eritrean migrants in recent days. The attitude taken by the Italian government and the border countries involved in this case, demonstrated the severe ignorance on the reasons why tens of Eritreans to leave their country every day. - So says PM Vitale Vitali, president of GMA Onlus, non-governmental organization engaged in the Horn of Africa since 1972 and member of the Coordination CIPSI -.
With this appeal the GMA calls on all governments and citizens to work for young people who too often are victims of legitimate desire to have a decent life can see the basic rights guaranteed in their countries of origin. The migration of Eritreans is dictated by a political, economic and social difficulties, which for years is putting the Eritrean people to its knees.
We can not continue to stand by and watch, is the responsibility of governments and their citizens to change the current situation. Italian security policy today is nothing but a piece of a short-sighted policy, which does not look to the rights of human beings. It makes no sense to talk about security if you first do not you adopt an international policy based on the promotion of human rights.
The GMA has worked since 1972 in the Horn of Africa to promote their basic rights and we are convinced that solidarity International, based on dialogue and the promotion of relations between people, is the way to achieve peaceful relations among peoples. GMA has gained the support of its claim Guido Barbera, President CIPSI: "the tragedy of Eritrean migrants is consumed in the total indifference of the international community, before and after: just look at the corpses do not move up, the total disregard of life in the game to bounce responsibilities between the governments of Italy, Malta and Libya to deny any responsibility. This tragedy was born from another tragedy: that of Eritrea, where human rights are routinely violated. " GMA's commitment and attitude of thousands of Italian families active supporters non-profit association already active in promoting human rights in the Horn of Africa will voice September 13, 2009 at the Annual Meeting which will take the theme: Communication: Opportunities for Global Citizenship.
